My Personal American Dream
Personally my american dream isn't all about money. My grandfather moved to America from Germany at the end of World War Two. He started as a janitor in a machine building company. As time went on the company died, and the owner handed the company over to my grandfather hoping that he could make something out of the mess that was left behind. Before long, the company began to flourish and my grandfather made a fortune. That is the typical American Dream, to come here and make money.
However the way I view this is much different. Money does make the world go round, and its sad that a green sliver of paper-like cloth is what makes this world go round. In all reality, all we really want is happiness, and apparently money is the our bond that we tie to happiness. All I really need is a family to take care of me. A family to care for me in a way of emotions and personal problems. The family I once had was a disaster and fell apart. There was a divorce and things were never the same. All I want is to grow up to have a family that doesn't shatter to little bits like mine did when I was a child.
